Promoting Watershed Security in Ontario:

ecological integrity, social wellbeing, and economic vitality

The OHI sent comments to the Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority on their draft guideline to implement OR 179/06, the Development, Interference with Wetlands, Alteration to Shorelines and Watercourse Regulation. Our comments touched on general principles and three aspects related to headwaters: an inaccurate definition of headwaters; the need to embrace a headwater guideline being adopted by other authorities in Ontario; and issues surrounding the description of Natural Channel Design, a practice often applied to headwater streams. See our comments, in OHI to LSRCA RE 179 06 Feb 23.
