April 2022: The OHI is please to share a report, below, on the Grand watershed and the health of its headwaters. The report was designed to stimulate interest in regional headwater protection and enhancement. It was created by students in the Capstone Program of the University of Guelph, who have done a fabulous job of gathering and analyzing information.
The report describes key aspects of and issues in the watershed; provides GIS mapping on those priorities; makes recommendations in four key areas; and shares results of a public survey on the health of the watershed.
The survey was completed by more than 150 people and organizations, and an astounding number of more than 30 people and local organizations expressed interest to participate on a Grand Headwaters Steering Committee.
Getting a leg up on that task, the report also provides templates for three brochures on better protection for the watershed, with room for the OHI logo and that of other local partners.

Following the finalization of new draft official plans, to be submitted to the Province by July 2, 2022, the OHI will begin working with partner organizations and the 30 people and organizations who have expressed interest in order to discuss next steps.
